Instead of paying for medical services out of pocket and then seeking reimbursement from the insurance company, the insurance company directly settles the bills with the healthcare provider.

How a cashless Payment works:

Selection of Network Providers

Insurance companies have a network of healthcare providers, including hospitals, doctors, and clinics, with whom they have negotiated agreements.

Policyholder Seeks Treatment

When a policyholder requires medical treatment, they can choose to receive care at a network hospital or facility covered by their health insurance policy.

Contacting the Insurance Company

Before seeking treatment, the policyholder contacts their insurance company or its third-party administrator (TPA) to initiate a cashless request or cashless authorization.

Cashless Authorization Request

The policyholder provides specific information of policy details, the nature of the medical condition needed, the name and location of the selected network hospital, and the expected date of admission.

Cashless Authorization Letter

If the request is approved, the insurance company issues a cashless authorization letter to the policyholder.

Presenting the Letter at the Hospital

The policyholder presents the cashless authorization letter to the hospital during the admission process.

Policyholder's Responsibility

While the policyholder does not have to pay, they are still responsible for any applicable co-payments, deductibles, or non-covered expenses as per the policy terms.

Monitoring the Claim

The insurance company continues to monitor the claim throughout the treatment process to ensure that it remains within the approved scope and coverage.
